The Badger365 SaaS model is available exclusively through a Microsoft Marketplace subscription. While you can use all features of our web part without a subscription, we show a small banner above the FAQ to remind you that the web part is yet to be registered. Our banner comes with a close button, but the banner will appear again after a page reload. In the web part properties there is a button to temporarily hide the banner for a span of twelve hours. You are free to keep extending this grace period indefinitely.

Understanding SaaS

Software as a Service (SaaS) is the software distribution model that’s used for offering SharePoint solutions on the Microsoft Marketplace. In this model, these solutions, such as web parts, are developed and hosted by third-party providers. They are offered to users through the Microsoft Marketplace.

When users subscribe to a SaaS-based solution, they gain access to the features and functionality provided by the web part without the need to install or manage it locally. The web part is hosted on the service provider’s infrastructure, and users can interact with it directly from their SharePoint environment.

SaaS for the SharePoint Framework streamlines the user experience. Users can easily discover and acquire web parts from the Microsoft Marketplace, and the installation process is simplified. Since the web parts reside in the cloud, updates and maintenance are handled by the service provider, ensuring users always have access to the latest features and improvements.

This model benefits both users and developers. Users enjoy seamless access to powerful tools without the complexity of local installations, while developers can focus on enhancing their solutions and providing ongoing support, rather than managing deployment and updates on individual user environments.
